Job Coach Training Series - Summer 2023

Coaching Skills for On-the-Job Trainers - Virtual Training Series (Now live and recorded)

This 5-week (10 hour) training series will address the skills necessary to be an effective job coach.

Trainings will be held via Zoom from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m each day.

(Sessions will be recorded. You will need to purchase "All 5 sessions + recording" ticket. The recordings will be available on our LMS for 2 months, and only available to that registrant. We will not be offering singular session recordings at this time.)

Although recommended, you do not need to register for all 5 sessions.

July 25: General Disability Awareness and Characteristics of Autism

Attendee will be provided information on disability statistics in Michigan, including employment data. Disability will be discussed, specifically autism and characteristic commonly observed.

July 26: Assessing Needs and Communicating with Your Team

Attendee will learn about the role of a job coach and the importance of assessing the workplace, trainee production, social skills, and how to use task analysis in the assessment process. Communication strategies with your team, including the trainee will discussed.

July 31: Strategies, Natural Supports and Accommodations

Attendee will learn about a wide variety of evidenced-based strategies that can be used to ensure trainee success at their job.

August 2: The Fading Process

Attendee will learn that fading is much more than reducing time with the trainee. Timelines, strategies and problem solving will be discussed.

August 8: Importance of Documentation

Attendee will be provided a variety of tools on how to document services provided and progress. Attendee will learn the importance of documentation and the expectations of referral sources.

Together they have over 75 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.

You will be emailed Zoom login information for your registered session(s)  1 week prior to the event. Contact kkinde@incompassmi.org with questions. Attendees will be provided a digital handout of the PowerPoint and a packet of resource materials for each session.

Sessions are $80 each for non-members and $60 each for members.
Discounted pricing for registering for all 5 sessions is $335 for non-members and $235 for members. Access to the recordings is only available in the **All 5 Sessions + Recordings option below. Members $250, non-members $375.

"No-Shows" will not be eligible for a refund. Refund requests are subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be given after July 1.

For those who purchased the recordings bundle: the recordings are meant for viewing by the original registrant. If another person attends your live sessions or views your recordings, it will forfeit your access to the LMS recordings.
