Lighting the Way: Helping Families See Possibilities in Competitive Employment - Virtual -
Gain the trust of your client's family, and help them see the potential for employment with this 1.5-hour training. Presented by Menachem Hojda and April Mauro.
Approved for 1 Social Work CEU by the NASW.
This will empower attendees to work more effectively with families who have a loved one with a significant disability. Using an understanding of how disability can impact someone's employment outlook, and how families can become ambivalent about their loved one engaging in competitive integrated independent employment, attendees will learn to use listening and empathy to better support the change process. They will learn tips for their agencies to become more family-centered, and how to develop policies for their agencies. There will also be breakout sessions for topic discussions.
