Changes in the 2020 Employment and Community Services (ECS) Standards Manual will also be highlighted.

Session topics include:

  • An overview of the accreditation process, including an examination of the value of accreditation for organizations, consumers, and the public.  
  • An overview of CARF standards, including the ASPIRE to Excellence® quality framework, which is designed to provide a logical and action-oriented approach to continuous quality improvement.
  • Examples of conformance to the CARF standards, including discussion of the most commonly missed standards.
 
About the Presenter:

Pete Hathaway, Managing Director of the Employment and Community Services accreditation area, has more than 25 years of experience in the rehabilitation field. Before joining CARF as full-time staff member in 2006, Pete served as a CARF surveyor for 12 years. He has managed community-based services for adults and children with disabilities and their families and has also been a contract manager for a state governmental agency.  Prior to assuming the Managing Director position he worked as a Resource Specialist at CARF assisting organizations in the preparation for CARF accreditation.

It is recommended you have a 2020 ECS standards manual for this training. If you are in need of a 2020 standards manual you may purchase one HERE.

 

Who Should Attend:

Administrators, board members, purchasers of services and referral sources, consumer advocates and key staff involved in planning, developing, and improving service outcomes, as well as those considering CARF accreditation for the future.
