Advanced Motivational Interviewing RESCHEDULED

This two-day training will begin with a dialogue stemming from a series of questions eliciting trainee experiences with using MI since their participation in the Basic Training.  An in-depth review of the 5 training modules covered in the Basic Training will occur during the 2 days of training via lecture, videos, numerous exercises and real plays.  The Four Processes, Key Values, the Four elements of the Spirit of MI and the Four general principles will be covered in this training.  At the conclusion of this training, participants should be prepared to us Motivational Interviewing at a much deeper level. Attendees are required to take the 2 day Motivational Interviewing Basic Skills Training prior to attending Motivational Interviewing Advanced Skills Training. 

About presenter: Dan Reed has over 25 years of experience working in human services. He’s held both direct service and supervisory positions with a primary focus in children and family services in a CMH setting. Dan completed the Motivational Interviewing Train the Trainer – Wyoming Protocol training initiative in the state of Michigan in 2010 and became a Member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) in 2014. Dan has provided MI Basic Training in multiple behavioral and physical health settings in the state of Michigan and nationally. Dan is best known for being very passionate about motivational interviewing and how it is helpful for both the client, provider, and a means for replacing traditional deficit-based approaches to engagement and treatment.
